The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of physical objects, or "things", that can connect and exchange data with other devices and systems over the internet. IoT devices can include anything with a sensor that is assigned a unique identifier (UID). They are embedded with sensors, software, and other technologies that allow them to collect data about the physical world and transmit that data through the internet. The primary goal of IoT is to create self-reporting devices that can communicate with each other and users in real time without human intervention.
